Energise Smoothie Bowl

If you’ve not tried a smoothie bowl yet, you’ve not yet discovered what a treat they are! Instead of glugging down your nutrients, a smoothie bowl is a bit like a decadent, creamy mousse with a textured topping which makes it a taste sensation. It’s as easy as throwing some ingredients into blender and arranging your toppings. And voila, a healthy and instagram worthy healthy breakfast or dessert just like that.

  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 1 medium ripe banana, previously sliced and frozen
  • ½ cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 small handful kale (stems removed)
  • 1 small handful mint leaves
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • Toppings of your choice - sliced fruit, coconut flakes, seeds


  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. The texture should resemble soft ice cream.
  2. Scoop out into a bowl and top with whatever takes your fancy. I love coconut flakes, bee pollen and sliced kiwifruit or strawberries.
